Request for Proposals: The City of South St. Paul is requesting proposals from interested and qualified schools and/or individuals for the operation of a Learn to Skate program at Wakota Civic Arena, as an independent contractor. Proposals should include a business plan outlining the following: 1. Specific curriculum plan for all age and ability levels 2. Pricing structure for the participants 3. Financial reporting procedures to the City 4. Marketing and Advertising plan 5. Professional standards/certifications, if any, to be required of program staff members (be specific) 6. Revenue sharing with the City of South St. Paul (minimum of 50% of gross revenue is required) 7. References 8. Insurance coverage in amounts not less than $1,000,000 commercial general liability and listing the City as an additional insured party. If a partnership, the names and addresses of all partners; if a corporation, the name of the corporation and state of incorporation; if a limited liability company, the names and addresses of all the managing partners. Operations: The City of South St Paul bears no responsibility for staffing, curriculum development, marketing design services, or administrative requirements. It will be the sole responsibility of the contractor to prepare and deliver accurate registration and financial reports as part of the revenue sharing with the City of South St. Paul Submission: Three copies of the proposal shall be submitted to the Wakota Civic Arena Manager, as identified below, no later than 4:00 pm, Friday September 10th, 2010. Late submittals will not be accepted. Acceptance: The City of South St. Paul reserves the right to cancel the Request for Proposal at any time or for any reason that serves the best interest of the City. The City of South St. Paul also reserves the right to reject proposals based on evaluation of submitted materials. Preparation: The City of South St. Paul will not be responsible for any costs incurred by those submitting a proposal. City’s Right to Revisions: The City reserves the right to revise the scope of the proposal based on budget limitations and other considerations. The contractor will be expected to assist the City in redesigning the proposal as warranted, based on these considerations. The City also reserves the right to select all or part of a proposal as well as to select desirable aspects from any number of proposals. Services to be provided by City: The City of South St Paul will provide the following services to the contractor: 1. 1.5 hours per week of Ice time for the Learn to Skate program 2. Assist with the distribution of printed marketing material throughout South St. Paul and immediate surrounding areas. 3. Provide a space for class-related material storage, with a limit of 25 square feet. The storage will be accessible when Wakota Arena is open for business. 4. Provide a posting place for class-related material. The location, size, and number of posting places will be determined by Wakota Arena Management. 5. Provide a drop box for participants to leave material for director. The drop box will be accessible when Wakota Arena is open for business. Responsibilities include management of Canlan's brand new 3-sheet facility as well as the city owned single sheet arena. Sr. Supervisor / Ops Manager wanted: The role is responsible for all aspects of facility building maintenance and ice production operations for our single sheet ice rink in Oregon. Applicants should have at least 3 years' experience in ice rink operations and we would prefer that applicant has begun their STAR Certified Ice Technician. Must have 4-5 years experience supervising people. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining the two Olympia’s and being responsible for the overall condition of the ice, facility maintenance setup/upkeep and cleanliness of facilities with the assistance of our 15 person staff, MSDS sheets, preventative maintenance scheduling and recording, sharpening of rental skates, providing positive customer service. Additional requirements would be to train part time staff on maintenance of the facility and include working Friday nights and Saturdays. This is a full-time position with complete benefits package.
